Ethan Long and Cody Gilbert – Golf Course

This year, the
Employee Recognition Board reviewed and approved six worthy nominations
for Unit of the Quarter recognition, with one recommendation standing
out as particularly worthy of praise.
One day this Summer, Golf Course Employees Ethan Long and
Cody Gilbert were tending to bunkers after a morning storm at the
Gatlinburg Golf Course when they noted a suspicious man walking behind
the fifth green. Ethan and Cody greeted him as they do other morning
walkers who frequent the course, then noted the man walking toward the
eleventh tee and later conspicuously trying to stay out of sight.
Upon returning to the maintenance shed a short while
later, a Pigeon Forge Police Officer pulled up, looking for a suspect.
Ethan took the officer to the eleventh tee, and a short while later he
and Cody communicated their observations to members of the tactical
force team, which tracked the man with their dogs and took him into
custody.
In recognition of their dutiful awareness on the job and
willingness to aid law enforcement, Ethan Long and Cody Gilbert of the
Golf Course are deserving and hereby recognized as the 2011 Unit of the
Year.
