The City of Gatlinburg's Building Inspection Services Department is located on the second floor of City Hall which is located on Highway 321.  Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM except for national holidays.  Permits need to be applied for in person during regular business hours.  See submittal requirements for details. Plans review and permit processing functions are conducted within the department.

bullet The field inspectors perform as combination inspector for signs, excavation, building, plumbing, and mechanical installations.  Inspection requests are taken in person at the building department office, or by phone during regular business hours.  Twenty-four hour advance notice is preferred.
