Assistant
Chief/Training Officer Charlie Cole
Assistant Chief Cole joined the Gatlinburg Fire Department as a volunteer in
February of 1987. He became a full time paid employee on
January 15 of 1994. He is certified by
the state of Tennessee as a first responder/EMT instructor, state
commission on firefighting instructor I and Officer II, basic trauma life
support instructor and basic life support instructor by the
American Heart Association.
The
state of Tennessee requires 40 hours of training.
Gatlinburg's firefighters train 700 hours per firefighter
per year. Training topics are as follows:
