The Police Department is committed to excellence in the provision of Law Enforcement services that are designed to protect the lives and property of visitors and citizens of Gatlinburg.

Gatlinburg Police Department PatchThe Gatlinburg Police Department is a full service municipal Law Enforcement agency that was formed in 1945 with the compliment of two officers.  Today the department is structured in paramilitary fashion along functional lines and components.  This structure includes four major components which are Administration, Communications/Jail, Investigations and Patrol.  The department is allotted 55 members which includes 45 sworn Officers, 8 Dispatcher/Jailers, and two clerical positions and operates with an annual budget of $3,000,000.00
